Very Happy With This TV.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
What initially drew me to this TV was the price. The TV at the time was under 500 hundred dollars, no tax, and free shipping. I was relatively hesitant to purchase a TV online since I could not compare and contrast without going to a store and finding similar if not same models.
I am very happy with the purchase. LG HDTV’s have great contrast and the color seems to “pop” more than other brands. With an HDMI cable and a PS3, the visuals get down right beautiful. There are obviously much much much better HDTV’s on the market but this is the one that caught my eye because it has plenty of value behind it. 32″ is the perfect size for my living room since I sit only 5-6 feet away from it.
I would recommend this TV to anyone. The packaging was good, no dings, dents, tears, scuffs, etc. The TV came out pristine.
Stylish and perfect

First, I am feeling cheated right now, since I paid over [...] for this TV around a few months back. On the other hand, there is a lot of positive things about this TV which I really appreciate.
1. The picture quality is just amazing. It really has a enriched color display and your experience with sports will probably be awesome.
2. The sound quality is not the best I can get, but it is really close to perfection and I would still rate it 5.
3. The body has a rich color and is perfect and is stylish.
4. When viewed from various angles, there is very little depreciation of real output and a few faded spots do appear. On a comparison with other models, this is very minimal. Also, you would be viewing from a good distance, which voids the issue. We also use the swivel when you hook it up for games.
5. I have it connected with DVD players and it is awesome so far. Very satisfied with picture quality.
I kind of wish I have a bigger screen though. I saw this 37″ 1080p [...]which is also glossy black at a local store and is just a [...] extra.
It depends on your viewing distance and how far your sofa is from the television. With 1080p and a deep discount, I would call this a deal!!
Making a case for LG; amazing tv.

LG does’nt get enough praise.
Just bought this TV for the sake of it being an IPS panel and for its apparent adjustability (and also 1080p). Plus this tv is so easy to calibrate; the ‘picture wizard’ is extremely helpful.
The amount of menu options is jaw-dropping, as is the style of the set. The LH40 model looks neat with the plastic square along the bottom of the panel, but I like the more minimalist look of the LH30, and I do not like the 120hz or the $100 price jump of the LH40.
I made a comparison to my sony 32M4000 (which I have now given to my father) and there are some interesting differences (many are polar opposites):
-The sound is far superior on the LG.
-Black levels are very close, sony’s is a bit deeper and maintains black colors better at angles.
-The whiteness of whites is slightly better on the sony, but colors and mid tones definitely have more of a ‘punchy’ factor on the LG.
-Color is amazing; rich and saturated; best ive seen on any LCD, period.
-Color does not wash out at all from different angles, only very dark colors and black tend to become discolored (blue or red depending on the angle).
-Of course there are far, far fewer picture options on the sony.
-My sony has a ghosting problem with dark colors, not so on the LG; motion blur and lag is also reduced too.
-OTA HD channels look decent enough, not as sharp as the sony, but the better color makes up for it imo.
What was the main factor that made me get this LG?..its S-IPS panel.
Samsung is an excellent maker of lcds, but I steered clear of them this time, as buying a tv from them is like playing the lottery. They use 3 different panels with differing levels of color and contrast quality; you are not essentially getting what you pay for:
You may get Samsung’s own S-PVA panel, the best quality (if you’re lucky).
An A-MVA panel from Taiwan’s AUO (a notch worse than S-PVA).
Chinese company Chi Mei’s S-MVA panel (worst of the three).
Panasonics IPS Alpha panels are decent, but on some panels dark colors appear far too blue from different angles.
That narrows it down to LG’s S-IPS panel; its color saturation, vividness, and response time are worth the slight sacrifice in contrast and black depth (at least in my opinion).
This tv is not perfect, however; I spotted 3 dead pixels right out of the box (2 bright, 1 dark), right around the middle of the screen. They are practically invisible without being a foot from the screen and looking hard for them, however.
Viewing angles demonstrate some darkening of the picture, but its not too bothersome (swivel stand helps).
No other flaws I can think of at the moment, I recommend this tv!
My calibration settings use color adjustments from cnet.com along with some of my own tweaks, try them out!

Great TV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After a lot of research for a new bedroom tv, I purchased this LG and couldn’t be happier. Out-of-the-box perfect, easy to setup and an amazing picture with tons of features. This is the second LG TV we recently purchased and I’m sure it won’t be the last!
Love My LG
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is my first flat screen and was hesitant to buy since my old clunker worked just fine. The price was too good to pass up. This TV is easy to use and fits perfectly in my small living room. Pulled it out of the box and set it up in no time. Simple!! Clarity is much better than expected and sound quality is great. The menus are easy to scroll through. I love watching my shows on my new, big, colorful screen. Definitely worth the purchase! Not sure how I lived without it!

i use this tv for xbox 360 only, with hdmi.
awesome picture quality, sound, and design.
the only reason i only game on this tv is because i have a bad cable provider with crappy quality and wouldnt waste it on such a nice tv.
but everything is great on this tv.
best picture quality of any tv i have had.
the only thing i dislike, is that when the tv is turned on, and not in any input modes, basically in like the home screen, i notice a very faint hum noise from the back of the tv. but as long as you are not a neat freak like me, you will notice it.

My new LCD HD TV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This TV replaced an old 24″ analog TV. Been very pleased with it so far. Price and service was very good. I was skeptical about buying a TV online but had absolutely no problems. The TV picture quality is stunning especially for sporting events. It is the perfect size for a small living room. Would definitely recommend this TV.
Happy with TV, but not the price
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased the LG one week ago, and I am pleased with this TV. Picture is quite sharp, and the sound quality is excellent for such a small set. In addition, I am able to easily attach my computer using the HDMI connection in order to stream Netflix videos, somthing that never seemed to work properly on my prior TV, even though that one also had an HDMI connection.
However, I was disappointed to see that just one week after purchasing the TV from Amazon for $524, the same TV was advertised in Best Buy for only $479. I now feel quite foolish for having paid so much more than what is apparently the street price for this set. I purchase products from Amazon due to their good reputation as well as low price, and I don’t always expect to get the absolute lowest price, but in this case, the variance in price is quite high, and it is apparent I overpaid. I will have to do more price comparison shopping in any future Amazon purchases, which I can do, but it is time consuming and I would prefer to shop at a place where I know that I am getting, if not the lowest price, at least a competitive price without having to check 30 different websites first.
So far so good
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Ordered this TV at the end of December and, after one month, we are very happy with it. For context, my wife and I are not terribly sophisticated (or enthusiastic) users of electronics, we don’t use a gaming system, and we aren’t big sports buffs. We watch a lot of movies and probably more TV than we should–mostly sitcoms and some sports. So we were looking for the least expensive 32″, 1080p LCD set from a “reputable brand”–e.g. LG, Panasonic, Samsung & Sony. One month in we are completely satisfied.
As for particulars, we have no complaints about the image quality, we run the audio through our receiver, so I can’t really attest to the audio, and setting up the TV was quick and easy. Aesthetically I consider the set to be on the nice looking side of average. Maybe not as cool as the new Samsung LEDs, but still nice to look at. My only reservation is that (I think) you need to install a bracket in the wall to mount it.
People who are super-serious about home entertainment should probably check out other reviews, but for those of you are just looking for a straightforward flatscreen that covers the basics, I highly recommend this set.
p.s. Bought the set using a trial membership to Amazon Prime, so it was delivered next day for $4. A nice option that’s worth looking into, just remember to cancel that Prime membership if you don’t want to pay the $79 annual fee.
Great TV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the best TV you could buy. The size is just right for my small den. The picture quality is absolutely fantastic. Very easy to use and set up. This is our second LG HDTV.(Other TV is 52 inches) The customer service is beyond words. I hesitated buying a television on line but the reviews made by other buyers convinced me to go for it. I am not sorry. Needless to say, I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon for YOUR great service also.

Great buy for a 1080p TV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
A great buy for a 1080p TV. This TV has tons of features to adjust the picture. The picture wizard didn’t do much for me, but the expert menus are great. Each input on the TV has its own picture settings, which is both a blessing and a curse. Blacks could be deeper (especially at angles), but can be enhanced significantly with the proper settings. Despite reviews that I’ve read, I think blacks are actually superior to most LCD TVs in its class when set correctly. No dead or stuck pixels. My only gripe is that there are some uniformity issues. There are some very faint vertical bars across the LCD where the image is slightly darker. These are only really visible out of the corner of your eye during scenes with moving backgrounds. They’re mostly visible with blue hues and when viewing from off-angles.
I don’t have a Blu-ray player yet, but DVDs look fantastic through HDMI. I appreciated the array of appropriate options for aspect ratio and display. SD TV is rather ugly, but that’s to be expected. That said, there is a noise reduction feature which cleans up the SD signals very nicely. Hooked up the Wii through component cables at 480p–looks nice. I also love the fact that I can hook it up to my laptop and make use of every last 1080p pixel. There is an auto-adjustment feature in the picture menu that can align your VGA output to fit the TV if it comes up off-center at first. One gripe here is that the TV doesn’t seem to auto-detect my VGA connection like it does with HDMI, component, etc… you have to manually use the directional arrows to select VGA from the input menu. It works, even though it appears to be grayed out.
Overall, the menus are very logical and easy to use. I was especially happy (and surprised) by the simplicity of the remote control, and the directional keys have a nice feel to them. Switching between inputs is a breeze, and the ability to add labels to the inputs in the selection menu (appropriate pictorial representations included) is a great feature. I love that it detects which inputs have something plugged in and lists them first. It’s so easy the rest of my family can actually use it without having to call me to help
Sound seems very good for a flat-panel. It has good clarity and surprisingly deep bass. The bass doesn’t cause the set to rattle at all, which is a plus. It’s nothing awe-inspiring, but it sounded better than most of the other brands at the store.
It’s also a beauty, design-wise. Assuming it continues to be reliable, I highly recommend it.
Great TV

Bought this TV to replace a 32″ 720p HD that was about 4 yrs old. Extremely easy to set up. Worked perfectly, great picture. Great price!
Best 1080p 60Hz HDTV in its class. Hands Down
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
BEFORE BUYING THIS TV….
I’ve been doing research on HDTVs for about a year. My new hobby now is high quality entertainment and wanted to get the best TV for quailty picture and price. LG is a great company with beautiful quality that produces very detailed color and picture. I knew this because my girl friend’s parents have a 32″ LG 720p in their family room which kind of inspired me to go with LG. Picture is much cleaner and more clear than most TV’s I’ve seen for under $600 at bestbuy.
For the most part, I love Baseball and watching the team with the best fans and best city to play in, the Chicago Cubs. I try to watch almost every game along with the Chicago Blackhawks from time to time. PlayStation 3 is another hobby of mine. And have been playing and watching on a Tube my whole life, currently was running off a 23″ Symphonic tube TV. Like I mentioned, I love the PS3 and have been playing since 1998 PSOne and accustomed to the controller. Love the 1080p blu-ray feature and the stunning blu-ray graphics processed by the Cell chip. But I was getting nowhere near the quality and picture I should be getting. I knew i had to upgrade, as time went on the tube tv became more pathetic day by day, “What am I looking at!?!?!”
The day the HDTV came, 01/21/10, WHAT TO EXPECT….
Holy cow!!! This HDTV came fast and a HUGE beautiful box. 32″ was bigger than I expected but really is the best size tv for my small room. Any bigger or smaller would not make me as satisfied as I am already. I went from a 23″ tube Symphonic to 32″ LG 1080p 60Hz with a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 which has amazing black details. Since the TV is running at only 60Hz, the picture tends to almost skip/blur when imagies or the camera are moved across the screen quickly. But overall movements are only noticable if you really pay close attention and look for that sort of thing. On some of the slower shots and still frames, it’s like looking through an F’in WINDOW. Blu-ray movies are absolutly mind blowing. Watching the DisneyNature film Earth in Blu-Ray was breath taking. You get a feeling of almost being there. I showed the family and they couldn’t believe their eyes because they’re still stuck on old, dead technology, and by that I mean Tube Televisions. I can’t even look at a tube tv without seeing a bunch of lines going across and static it seems like. I feel bad for you tube tv owners. This HDTV has AMAZING picture/color quality for a great price. This is a $600 TV at bestbuy not including tax so you’re looking at at least $650 at BestBuy. Going from a Tube to a HDTV is really a black and white difference. PlayStation 3 looks amazing, it’s almost like upgrading my entire PS3, it’s completely different and better in every way! I can go on and on about this TV. “Is it a TV or something better?” is a perfect mato for this TV.

Color Monitoring
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I purchased the LG32LH30 TV to use with Final Cut Pro software and an Matrox mini to monitor NTSC video color output while editing in FCP. The LG was selected for its 1:1 pixel capability, it rich color adjustment features and price. The picture quality head-on is excellent, but it quickly becomes brighter and losses color quality when viewed from even a small side angle. I have to make a point to be directly in front of the LCD when making color adjustments. This could be a issue if used as a TV. It is a good value for the price.
Excellent Economy HDTV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p replaced a 720p 32 inch Samsung which I returned because of erratic sound quality. The LG provides a very clear picture for upscaled DVD movies and over the air digital signals. The speakers provide excellent sound for a small living room although the addition of a home theater system would substantially increase movie enjoyment. Standard definition signals also reproduce a stable clear picture. Colors are very good and the set provides sufficient tools to tweak the picture for personal preference. I have not used it for bluray as yet but HD from satellite is very good. The features of this unit described on the Amazon specifications list accurately describe its features and can be relied upon. I am not a hard core cinema/video buff but I cannot imagine that this unit will not satisfy most viewers who want a well priced midsized flat screen high definition TV. My five stars are based upon what I expect in similarly designed and priced units for a smaller room.
Great TV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This TV took a total of 30 minutes to unpack, hook up, and run! What a beauty! Picture is excellent with loads of adjustments possible. Ok, the black’s a little weak but not that bad. I have it in my bedroom hooked up to Dish Network. Considered Samsung 720p for more money but this one was a steal. LG makes a great product. Buy it, you won’t be unhappy!
Latest Revision not for the better (audio/video sync, panel type)
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Buyer be warned, some of the specifications of this particular TV model have changed in just the last couple of months.
Change #1: The panel is no longer an S-IPS panel. After November 2009, all revisions now have a TFT panel. The result is that the color depth you will see is 8-bit versus the 10-bit with the S-IPS panel. LG, and most TV manufacturers, are not required to announce a change in the design or specifications of their models. To be fair, the picture quality is still very good, in my opinion, and the number of tweaks available to adjust the display settings are similar to those that you would find in a very high-end TV.
Change #2: Yes, the audio/video sync issues are in full-effect. It only occurs over HDMI…but then that’s one of the main points of buying a HD-TV, no? On some HD stations, the sync issue is not that noticeable. On others, especially movie channels like TNT HD, you will find a 1-2 second audio delay. I tried to correct this issue via the service menu but did not notice any improvement.
Apparently LG has a software fix for this issue; I called and scheduled an appointment to have a technician apply the software fix. I hope this remedies the audio/video sync problem as otherwise I will have to return this TV.
Overall, it’s still a good TV, and hopefully LG will release a newer batch VERY SOON with the updated software fix. Otherwise, it is something that can be remedied, and you might not notice it at all. Just be aware of what you’re getting into.
Also note that OneCall says they do not offer returns for TV’s over 20 inches…
perfect small tv
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
i like bought this for my bedroom to go at the foot of the bed, its he perfect size for that. the blue ray nd upscaled dvds are nice and crisp with none of the weird artifacts you get with the newer motion enhanced tvs. decent color in cinema mode. my only complaint is the few connections on the back and i can’t figure out how to get sound out of the tv speakers when the source come through hdmi.
Great Inexpensive LCD HDTV
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Great deal for what I paid…. This is THE HDTV to get if you are on a budget. The only thing I don’t like is no Audio Out.
Very nice little set.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This TV preforms very well although the lack of 120Hz or 240Hz is very apparent, more so even than I expected. My other set is a 46 inch Mitsubishi w/120Hz so maybe I’m just really used to that. But for the price and other features given on this set this is still a great TV!. I will say that if I were to do it again and this TV was available with an option to get the 120Hz processing and that option was $100.00 or less I would pay the extra.
Value for the Money
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I had a specific entertainment cabinet to fill in my gameroom, so I did quite a bit of research on 32″ 1080p HDTV’s. I found that this model from LG both fit my size and budgetary needs. It was very easy to set up, but I would recommend that you purchase a set of HDMI cables (one for cable/satellite and another for blueray/dvd player). This set has a very simple menu options for picture quality, sound options and input selections. The only nit I could pick is that the picture tends to be rather dark and this is after I’ve played with both manual and preset display options. I’m sure that there are higher quality options out there, but if you’re looking to save a couple hundred bucks, this is the way to go in my opinion.
I love this TV

Janet
Nice picture, lack of output options, no program description
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The TV’s picture quality is excellent. And the tuner is excellent – actually pulling in a channel I didn’t even know existed before. The sound quality is also nice.
I have 2 complaints (and if I’m missing something, please respond and let me know):
*There are about 50 ways to plug things *into* this tv, but there appears to be a single audio-out option – Optical out.
I have an older but perfectly adequate Sony stereo receiver with nice speakers and a powered subwoofer. It’d be really nice to run the audio from this TV into my stereo, but, unbelievably to me, there is only one way to do this: using an optical out cable. My stereo does not have an optical-in option.
So my 12 year old 19″ TV had more options than this. I guess I’ll never watch a movie again in surround sound with decent bass unless I manage to hook my DVD player up to my stereo directly. If I want audio from regular TV to come out of my stereo – totally out of luck.
I just can’t believe they’d skip a simple RCA-cable audio-out.
*Complaint 2: With our $10 digital converter box we could see a program description and a “What’s next” description as well, describing both how long the current show is and what is next up.
This TV, with its many bells and whistles doesn’t even display this. Our $10 converter box beats this TV on that point. I feel like I have to be missing something because I just can’t believe it, but I’ve gone thru every option I can find and pressed every button on the remote in every combination I can think of and still can’t get more than very basic channel information to display.
Okay, but not great

I purchased this TV from Amazon supplier Tiger Direct based on Amazon reviews in early November 2009. We have a two year old 32″ Samsung HD LCD TV that we were moving to another room and the LG TV was purchased to replace to older TV. My wife and I both found the quality of the picture to be inferior to the Samsung. Moreover, the biggest problem with the LG TV was the deterioration in picture quality with viewing angle. The LG also seemed to have a slight problem keeping audio and video in sync on a few programs, somthing we had not noted in our other TVs (we have four flat panel TVs in all – only one is HD) Given the room we planned to place it in required a wide viewing angle, we returned the TV.

Great LCD TV. Very impressed with the shipping and the quality of the product. Right from the box to my bedroom and was setup and running within 15 minutes. Picture is great! Great television for a bedroom.
Price and Features, this is the best you can find
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
To Compare its features and the price it is the best 32 inch LCD TV I can find. I did read a few different 32-Inch specs and user menus. Samsung and Sharp (I do not remember what modles) are better than this one but about $300 higher. JVC (1080p at sam’s club) about the same price (but $40 tax) and feature but this one has a better picture quality. Vizio has different modles and the picture quality none of them better than this one. I also compare LG32LH40 (120Hz) with this one about $100 higher but some reviews of LG32LH40 reporting few minor issues.
Best in Class for This Size and Price
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After tons of research I decided on this maker and model and I love this TV. I agree with other reviewers that the blacks are not as black as they could be but most LCD’s in this size category have the same issue. It has not diminished my satisfaction.
PROS
Excellent picture quality
Vivid colors without being over saturated
No noticeable blurring or pixelation
Blue Ray Movies in 1080 look incredible
SUPER simple setup. When you first turn it on, it automatically guides you thru the setup…(no manual needed here)
We have basic cable and the autoscan found over 40 channels I never knew we had (music and HD)
Excellent on screen menus that make adjusting picture, sleep mode, etc. easy (within days you can access without even looking at the remote)
Everything on it feels solid, no jiggly buttons or inferior feel, even the remote is well made
Excellent styling. This unit is just nice to look at. Smooth lines, clean and modern.
CONS
Ability to produce deep blacks as stated above
Nearly all TV’s regardless of what you spend have weak stock speakers so I rate sound as good but not great. Fine for TV, get external speakers for movies.
All in all this is high value: A great 32″ 1080P LCD for under $500. All other models in the sub-$500/$400 category come with sacrifices (some serious).
I love this TV!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this TV!!! I got this as a second TV after I rewired my house with 75-ohm because I had to get a new antenna (a giant Winegard antenna with a 14-foot boom in my attic) after the transition to digital. At this time I use it only for OTA digital signal. It is so sharp and clear and beautiful I just love it. I have no complaints. Its tuner is strong (apparently stronger than that on a major competitor’s TV I bought 18 months earlier) and the controls are easy to use. I find myself watching ridiculous things that no normal person would watch simply because the picture is so incredible. The blades of grass on a live golf broadcast are hypnotizing, mesmerizing, captivating.
A Great Buy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a smart buy if you can get a great price like I did… Even if you pay a little more, its still worth the money…
The picture is very clear with nice blacks and even looks good in standard mode, the speakers are surprisingly of good quality, and the assembly is so easy you could do it in five minutes or less…
My only complaint is that there is no headphone jack or analog audio out so I could not hook up my external speakers, (there is an optical digital audio out), but since the sound from the built in speakers is good I find myself quickly getting over it whenever I watch a movie or play a game, (And I am a pretty picky person when it comes to sound)…
The gloss finish is beautiful but does attract dust… However, LG was nice enough to include a dust cleaning cloth with the package so that takes care of that problem…
Navigating the menus and the layout of the remote are pretty pleasing, so there should be no problem there for most people…
This is worth the money and a very smart buy for a 32 inch tv and if you can get over not being able to hook up external speakers easily with analog sound then you will be very, very happy with this choice…
Great

Item was received within 24 hours of ordering! Super fast, and in good condition.
Is easy to assemble, and to operate.
Nice slim line model, modern and chique, and not heavy.
Good picture and sound quality.
(Note – website did not specify if power input could be 120-240 v or not, present cables are for 120 v only. Hope will be able to get new cable to use also in 240 v areas outside of the americas if needed.
I got a bad one…

Before we bought a 1080p screen, I wanted my wife to see the difference between the 60 and 120 hz 1080’s. She thought the 120 hz ruined the “movie” look of films(it looks too real). We went with this LG 32LH30 because it fit within our budget and size restrictions for our living room setup.
When we got it home and removed the tv from the box, we noticed cat or dog hair clinging on the unit. We do not have pets-or have ever had an animal in the house. We carefully brushed off what he could.
We attached our blu-ray player to HDMI port 3. We turned it on and tried our blu-ray player first. The picture was amazing just using the factory settings right out of the box. We couldn’t be happier.
We attached our our current cable box (analog until it can get switched to HD) to the AV1 (RCA Yellow video, left, right audio) import. The TV did not recognize the RCA video signal on its AV1 import. I thought maybe it was the cable box or cord, so i tried a video game system with a different cord in the same inputs, but it couldn’t recognize that video signal either. I plugged the cable box in again and the screen popped up a message saying that it detected a new signal. The analog cable worked. Yay. We went to dinner.
When we came back from dinner, we turned on the tv and the picture (both HDMI and AV1) was noticeably darker. We thought maybe the bulb needed time to warm up, so we gave it 1/2 hour to warm up. The screen was still dark. I adjusted every color setting on the set to as bright as it could go, but the picture stayed dark. Our cable box and blu-ray menu screens were too dark to read. The next morning we turned the tv back on, and the picture was getting even darker. It had been less than 24 hours since we bought the tv.
We also noticed that there was a slight, but noticeable image burn on the edges of 4:3 content would be displayed.
We returned the tv and swapped it for a new one. The AV1 recognized my cable box from the start, and the “input” source selection menu shows connected inputs in color now. So far, the picture has been good, but I’m still nervous everytime I turn it on.
Great TV, Even better price

After spending numerous hrs online, Best Buy and Fry’s, decided on 32LH30. I was debating between this tv and Samsung LN32B550 to replace a Samsung LN32B540 (720p). I’ve had the samsung 720p a few days and picture quality is excellent except it’s not 1080p. The main purpose of this TV will be as a 2nd computer monitor, the other is a 23″ LG W2353V.
Went to bestbuy and compared image quality, it seem identical, but TVs were not side by side.
Fry’s actually has both the Samsung 550 and LG H30 side by side so you can do a nice comparison. Samsung has deeper blacks. The LGs seem more on the green/gray side when compared only to the Samsung.
I played a bit with the settings but couldnt replicate the blacks produced by Samsung. However all other colors are almost if not identical to the samsung (GREAT!!!). At Fry’s they were playing iRobot this is where the black levels are noticeable, the TVs were also playing some HD landscape content and here it really becomes a coin toss between Samsung and LG. Some scenes look better on LG others on Samsung. I dont think you can go wrong with either set. However you will pay a little more for the Samsung, I do have a slight preference to the Samsung bezel though. I figure since I’m already using another LG screen this will compliment it well.
LG is a clear winner on price. LH30 $450, Samsung 550 is $650
However if your looking for a bigger TV run to your local Fry’s…
LG42LH40 $547 and the 47″ for a few $$ more (website shows higher prices)
Too bad 42″ is a little too big as computer screen since I sit about 2 feet away
So easy to use, right out of box

I don’t know anything about hooking up electronics or calibrating TV’s, but this was just TOO easy. I had made arrangements with a friend of mine to come over and make adjustments, but once I got the TV plugged in and the HDMI’s hooked up, then selected the Home viewing mode (as opposed to Store), there really wasn’t a need to do any calibrating. At frist, I had difficulty with the picture when watching DVD’s (white flecks), but it turns out it was just a bad HDMI cable. The sound is great, as far as I can tell. Awesome volume on it. This is my first foray into HDTV’s, so I don’t have much to compare it to. But the picture is crisp and I haven’t noticed any blurring when watching football. I’m just so relieved to have picked such a great TV on my first try, but the reviews on this one were so good, and I got a great price. I will definitely look into other LG’s when I need a new TV for the living room.

Wow. I am so pleased with this purchase. Not only is the product I purchased everything that it was supposed to be, the purchase through Amazon Prime was flawless. My wife and I both agree that all other purchases will be through Amazon Prime. $3.99 for overnight shipping is unbelievable but true. Ordered this TV at noon on Wednesday and FedX was at my door Thursday at 4 pm. Unit was delivered in perfect condition and worked right out of box. This was the second TV we purchased. The first one taking 10 days to get here and when it arrived it didn’t work. There was some anxious moments when attempts to contact [...] were futile. They only list an email address for returns. In all fairness to them they did send me an RMA for the return of the defective TV. Can’t go wrong if looking for a bedroom TV with the LG product. Highly recommend Amazon Prime for internet shopping.
Love it!

We love our LG TV. The only reason I gave it a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating is that the menu is a bit confusing for someone like me who is NOT obsessed with every technical aspect of AV equipment and, therefore, doesn’t know what everything means. There needs to be some dumbing down of the manual as well.
But the picture and sound are great. I have no idea what these people are talking about who say they can see some weirdness with a couple of the pixels and bleeding/fading around the edges of the picture in a dark room. If you have a LIFE, then you’ll enjoy the heck out of this TV. For those of you who think sitting in a dark room playing video games or watching movies all day and night is living, well…
Late last night I couldn’t get a picture…only sound. I called the cable people and they said it was the TV. I held for an hour for help from the LG 800 number. When the guy got on the line, he was very apologetic and extremely helpful. (Apparently, their system went down and I was just stubborn enough to stay on the line.) He explained that it was the cable and waited on the phone while I ran the cable directly into the TV to make sure. Then I called the cable people back and it took another half-hour to do all the tests they wanted me to do in order to prove to them it was the cable box, NOT the TV. So their customer service is good as long as their system doesn’t crash and you have to wait forever.
Amazon gave us a great price and with Prime Shipping, it was here in two days FREE. I know, Prime memberships cost $, but I’ve more than made up for that membership fee by having my son’s textbooks sent to them for free as well as many Christmas presents, etc.
We also got a LG Blu-ray DVD player for Christmas. It seems to be terrific as well. Kudos LG. I’m happy with my LG cell phone, so decided on the LG TV. Glad I did!
Love my HD

You can’t go wrong with this T.V.
Known audio problems…be warned
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Purchased this LG tv after reading the amazon reviews. Once I received it and hooked it up via HDMI cable to my DVR, I noticed a problem immediately. The audio & video are HORRIFICALLY out of sync. The audio is delayed by one second or more and makes it impossible to watch. I thought it might be the cable box so I called Time Warner and they swapped out my cable box for a new one. It made zero difference. Finally I called LG tech support and they didnt even ask me that many questions and said it was a known issue. They took my information and are sending a tech out to fix it. They claim that they are aware that there is a problem and there is a fix but it requires a tech to physically make a visit. After the call, I did deeper research and there are tons of internet postings about this same issue with folks all over the place extremely upset.
I then waited for 2 weeks and never heard back from LG. Called again and was told that they are getting swamped with calls on this issue and that they had no idea when I would get service. They said to call back after a month (!) if I hadnt heard back from them!! They claim that if you dont use HDMI, the problem goes away. But thats the reason I bought a 1080i TV….for the HDMI. Needless to say, please dont purchase from LG and pick another brand, at least for a while. Also, I purchased from Adorama Camera (via Amazon) and they have a no return policy for TV’s which is amazing and quite a shock. So I am stuck with this TV whether I like it or not.
ATSC Reception Excellent
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
For those of you connecting directly to an antenna, LG delivers. I was very concerned buying a new TV for my mom who is using a good inside antenna. She lives about 7-10 miles from transmitters in Philadelphia with lots of hills and multipath interference. She was using a “government free” converter box that had LG receiver chips. LG receiver chips are the best so I was hoping that LG used their own receivers on their TV. This LG TV does at least as well as the box with 38 channels.
I have no idea how other TVs compare – doesn’t seem like anyone rates ATSC performance so I’d stick with LG.
Great Value

I have never bought a TV and I think I read every review on the internet before deciding on this one. I compared the same TV at BB and other sites and Amazon was the best deal. I signed up for Amazon Prime when ordering this TV and got it extremely fast. Nothing was wrong with the packaging, not even a dent on the box! It was very easy to set up and the picture wizard was excellent. I have HD channels and a Blueray player so the 1080p is great!
Excelente!!

Purchased this item after reading reviews from [...] and comparisons from other Manufacturers….found this to be the best value. I feel i have made a good choice for our bedroom TV. 1080p with directv on Planet earth is awesome. Now I would rather watch my shows in the bedroom than our Sharp Aquos 720p in the living room.
Utilitarian – A good Thing
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Bought it because I considered it the best value among 32 inch LCDs. Am quite satisfied.
The LG 32LH30 is a solid, no fuss, TV that delivers a good picture with excellent sound clarity for speech. With non-HD satellite as input, have not noted significant image blurring on sports programs. That is, players and balls always appear as solid, clear images. On other programs, such as newscasts, faces of commentators are sometimes soft when they move their head or the camera angle changes. Color is quite natural and consistent, aided by good contrast. Was easy to set up and configure. Nicely done stand. One can swivel and tilt the set easily.
The one complaint is the inability to size the image as I would like. The options provide for a smaller image than the screen size – the picture is a smaller rectangle surrounded by a lot of black (like 24 inch inside a 32 inch area), a full screen with `squished’ vertical and elongated horizontal, or, using the zoom setting, a full screen that cuts of maybe an inch or two of the picture at the top and bottom – you don’t see much of the crawl, if any, at the bottom or the score box shown at the top of a sports program.
I love my new HDTV

Great TV, surpassed expectations!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It is a 32 inch TV so I wasn’t looking for anything Amazing!! I wanted it for the bedroom and didn’t have high expectations, just wanted a halfway decent TV. Turns out that this TV is great! Picture quality is very good! Settings in the menu were quite a surprise. Picture is Highly customizable. Though I do have to add that the Picture Wizard feature worked great for me. I’m sure that there are those who want to fine tune it their self but the Picture Wizard was fairly quick and optimized the picture to my liking. The Invisable speakers system actually sounds pretty good as far as TV speakers go. It is made up of things called “exciters” that attach to the thin frame around the TV on the inside and, in essense, cause the frame to become the speaker. At least that is what I read online after some pretty detailed searching. It wasn’t easy to find out EXACTLY how the speaker system worked. I believe it was an LG asian site that had the diagram on how it worked. Anyways they sound OK for a TV speaker. I recommend this TV, exellent picture!! I don’t think you will be disappointed.
LG what an experience!

Here I go again with a review of the LG LH30 32 inch 1080P LCD TV.
I have seen and used alot of brands like Pioneer Elite Plasmas, Sony LCD, Samsung DLP and Mitsubishi DLP.
Well I have to say that the LG stands out the most for the amazing price of $524.
The Picture quality is second to none, it is the BEST 32 inch LCD I have ever used or seen.
I use the LG for Videogames (XBOX 360 and PS3) @ 1080P and for movies via Bluray and DVD.
The games look very vivid and natural, especially games like Resident Evil 5, Uncharted 2, and Gears of War I and II.
Very satisfied with the videogames on this TV.
For movies I use a Sony BDP-S350 Bluray player @ 1080P and a Denon DVD-955S Universal DVD Player.
The Bluray’s look amazing eventhough I will upgrade my Sony to a Denon or Marantz shortly.
But I was very impressed with the DVD’s via Denon 955S because the TV I used before was nothing like the LG.
Of course for getting this amazing picture from DVD’s I can mainly thank LG and Denon for the performance I got.
The Contrast on this TV is sure amazing because I have not seen blacks like this before on any 32 inch LCD.
I seriously believe that LG is right up there with the Pioneer Elite TV’s which sadly are no longer being made.
The look of the LG is extraordinary, very nice Piano Black sides and a very nice chrome bar on the bottom which has an LED light on the right hand side, it glows dark red when the TV is in sleep mode and a very nice dark blue when the TV is on.
The Energy saving feature is great you can adjust how much energy you want the TV to save and the sound is very good, eventhough I am using seperate speakers and subwoofer for my sound. I still cannot believe the performance and look of this TV.
LG did something that Sony and Vizio should learn to master.
I also believe Samsung and LG are the top TV’s no matter what size.
I highly recommend this TV to anyone who wants the best for an amazing price.
Do yourself a favor and buy an LG, I sure will only buy LG from now on.
Thank You LG for making Life Good.
Best 32″ LCD on the Market
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very pleased with the LG 32LH30. Fantastic picture and sound quality in a beautiful glossy black frame. Before purchasing, compared this with other entry-level 1080p sets; almost purchased the Sony S series until I saw a side-by-side comparison. In my opinion, LG makes the best 32″ LCD on the market. Only complaints are the poor layout of the remote control and no analog stereo outputs, but otherwise, a great product for the money. I’m now considering the larger LH90 series for the family room. And, thanks to Amazon for the quick service and on-time delivery.
LG 32LH30 – Great Value & Picture
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Having recently bought a 42″ LG for my family room, when I decided to outfit my bedroom, I stuck with LG and I am glad I did. Although “conventional wisdom” says you don’t need 1080P on a 32″ set, I am glad I paid the small extra for it on this model.
Setup was a no-brainer, the picture is phenomenal, and I think LG is a far better value than similar sets from Samsung and others. Best about the LG models is the dizzying array of picture controls, so no matter your particular pleasure, you can be sure you’ll find a setting you like, or ones you can modify to suit your tastes.
Although I have home theater also installed in the bedroom, I ran the HDMI cable from the cable box direct to the TV and for everyday TV viewing the sound is fine. But I ran optical from the cable box to the receiver, so when I want to watch a movie in Dolby 5.1, it’s there.
Tremendous TV for a small room. LG movin on up like the Jeffersons!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Pros:
-Superb picture quality
-Beautifully designed (Piano black looks great!)
-low def signals look better than on my previous HDTV
Cons:
-Initial picture set up was tedious
-Not much bass in audio
I’ve owned this TV for two months. It’s the first TV I’ve purchased online (Don’t tell Amazon but I got it from another website…..Sorry Amazon, I still love you!).
This is easily the best TV I’ve owned. It’s the second HDTV I’ve owned. For the money you just can’t do better. However, I should have gotten a larger screen for my large den but that’s not the TV’s fault (entertainment center couldn’t hold a bigger TV).
I use the TV for watching blu-ray movies, playing PS3 games, and watching Standard-Def Satellite TV.
Out of the box it took me a while to get the picture set up. There were so many settings I wasn’t familiar with. However, I think my time spent with the settings was worth it. As I mentioned above the picture quality is superb.
Picture quality is beautiful when watching blu-ray movies or playing PS3. This TV does a great job making my standard definition satellite signal look good (took some time playing with settings).
One excellent feature is that it saves your picture settings for each input. This is useful because once you have picture set for each input it automatically adjusts when you switch between inputs. My previous TV did not have this.
The audio is ok. In summary, the sound is very clear but lacks deep bass.
As I said earlier I should have gotten a larger screen. Because of my long viewing distance from couch to screen it’s difficult to appreciate the additional detail of 1080p over 720p (my previous 32″ HDTV was Insignia 720p). When close to the TV the detail is absolutely incredible.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone needing a great HDTV in a small room. This was my first LG purchase and I’m very satisfied with this product’s quality. LG is definitely catching up to Samsung which I believe to be the best.
LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this product from Tiger Direct for $449 in late November and once plugged in I was totally amazed at the picture quality and ease of operation. The menu bar is so easy to work with that a two-year old can adjust it easily. I have read some reviews complaining about the picture skipping. All you need to do is press the menu bar, go to picture and click the picture wizard, problem solved. Much better than the Sony I have in my bedroom. I recommend this to anyone. Make sure to get a HD box to get the full vividness of this amazing TV. I am stunned.
